Summer 2009
I want to start out this newsletter
a little different. This will be my last newsletter. I want to thank everyone
for everything you did to help me out and for putting up with me during my time
as President and Secretary over the past 10 or more years. It has been a joy
for me to be able to serve our club over these years. Several people have
asked me if I intend to keep dancing after I am no longer president and I know
there have been a few rumors going around also. So to answer the question, YES
I intend to keep dancing and we intend to stay members of Krazy 8’s. I have
been a member of Krazy 8’s for 16 years now and I have been dancing for 32
years so I do not intend to quit now. I would also be willing to be an officer
again in the future, I just feel that it is time for me to take a break and let
someone else do it for a while.
Our May dance was a fun and was well attended. I apologize for not
having particulars about the dance as I am not able to find that information
right now. May was a very long and busy month for us with several celebrations
and a few disappointing times. Needless to say I am not very organized at this
point in time.

Thank you to everyone else who helped out in any way at the dance. It
takes us all to put the dance on and clean up and your help is greatly
appreciated. When everyone’s helps it makes the work go really fast.
A
special thank you goes out to Jack Cress who sits at the door for us at every
dance and to the Lays, Johnsons and Tim Lakey who take care of all of the decorations
and are in the kitchen at each dance.

Club Dance
Our next dance will be
Friday, June 5, 2009.

We will start dancing at
6:45pm with plus, 7:30pm with rounds and 8pm with mainstream.
Club Dance – August
Our August dance will be
Friday, August 7, 2009. There will be no newsletter before this dance so be
sure you mark your calendar.

Travel Dances
The travel
dances for the 2008/2009 dance season went very well. We took or retrieved a
banner at every travel dance we have. Great work.
We are done
with travel dances for the summer. Just go out there and dance and we will
start travel dances in September again.
Mystery Bus Trip
We are already planning our mystery bus trip for next year. Watch for
the date to be announced soon. This will give everyone time to get the money
together to go and make the plans to reserve the date for a great time with
square dancing friend.

Club Lessons
We had great lessons this year. Start telling all of your friend about
square dancing and invite them to start lessons with us on the 1st
Sunday in October (October 4, 2009) at the WDC.
Club Meeting/Potluck/Barbeque
Our annual club meeting this year will be July 25, 2009. We will meet at
1:00 pm under the shelter at the WDC. Please bring a dish for a potluck and
your own meat to grill. If you have a grill that you can bring please let me
know. We will have a meeting after we eat and install our new officers. Old
officers be sure to bring anything you need to turn over to the new officer.
Camping
Our club will be going camping the weekend of July 31 to August 2, 2009
If you do not have your own camping equipment you can rent everything from a
ten for $26 to a cabin for $89 to $109. Contact Kathleen Johnson (509-928-2399)
for information on making reservations and and location.
